BIOGRAPHY

jpg1As soon as she could hold a pencil, Gina Wilkins was writing stories and daydreaming of seeing her name on the cover of a book. She spent her childhood in Arkansas scribbling in spiral-bound notebooks that she promptly hid beneath her bed, too shy to share them. She was an avid reader, a joy shared with her by her book-loving mother. Romances, adventures, classics, thrillers, science fiction – she loved them all, especially the ones that included a sweeping romance.

The editor of her high school newspaper, Gina obtained a bachelor’s degree in journalism and worked in advertising and human resource development while pursuing her ultimate goal of writing novels. She has been a full-time writer since selling her first book to Harlequin in 1987, publishing over one hundred books since.

Still a daydreamer, Gina continues to enjoy sharing the stories always playing in her mind. She has appeared regularly on category romance bestseller lists, and was nominated for a lifetime achievement award by the editors of Romantic Times magazine. She is a four-time winner of the esteemed Maggie Award for Excellence sponsored by the Georgia Romance Writers.

A lifelong resident of central Arkansas, Gina has been married for more than thirty years to her own hero, John. They are the parents of three “extraordinary” offspring, two daughters and a son, all pursuing careers in medicine and medical research. A special son-in-law who, as a library director in New England, is a book-lover, himself, and two adorable little book-loving grandsons have enriched the family. Gina considers herself very blessed to have both a close family and a career she still loves after thirty great years.
